But Sabrina finds out that while magic is easier, there is always a price for using it.I've enjoyed all the books in this series and "the Problem Child" is no exception. Michael Buckley does a great job playing with the fairy tale mythology and he'll surprise readers with how he treats certain characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, Snow White, the Blue Fairy, and Prince Charming. Little Red Riding Hood is not the only problem child, Sabrina is so angry at the kidnapping of her parents that she will do anything to get them back, even if it means placing her family in danger. She is headstrong and flawed - a very believable character. Uncle Jake is in many ways a grown up version of Sabrina, although it's harder to forgive those kind of flaws in an adult who should know better. The fantasy elements are wonderful, although Ferryport is so fraught with danger I wouldn't want to live there!"The Problem Child" offers fantasy and fun for young and old alike.
I've read the first four books so far; well, audio read them, and they've been so fun I've purchased the whole series. Do yourself a favor and start at the very beginning. This series has become like potato chips for me - I couldn't stop at just one! Enjoy!
I LOVE THE SISTERS GRIMM series. the people at my school where reading them so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I picked up the first one and I read it in a day. A bully whose name should not be said told me that I could not read them and you know what I said? I can do anything I want to do and you do NOT rule my life. So when my best friend took her side I was really dumbfounded so when I go back to school I will have no friends PEACE
I have read the other two Sisters Grimm books and they were quite good, but this one was jut amazing. There is some romance stuff, but that's to be expected. I liked the humor and the storyline. Sabrina's conflict between her and magic is really crazy, and the ending of the book is even crazier. I can't wait for the sequel. I really loved this book.
This was a cute addition in this series of stories that picks up where the last one left off. Sabrina and Daphne have been in Ferryport Landing for a while, and now they are finally getting somewhere in they mystery of what happened to their parents. These books are cute and easy to read. I do want to find out what happens next.
This is a fantastic journey to take with your kid if they are an avid fantasy lover.Right out of the ilk as musical "Into the Woods" or mini-series like The Tenth Kingdom, or Tv show: Once Upon a TimeThe Grimm Sisters books are a little bit mystery, a little bit fantasy, but each book has some amazing "themes to grow on".Sabrina leads the way, the books continue to be written largely from her perspective, but we get to see her mind harden and soften, see and feel her learning along the way about some bigger points (racism, trust, loyalty). through fantasy rather than "real world".It's a great series, and we are eating it up. We're actually two books past this now (it's at the point that I'm reading ahead even).If you love fairy tales and you want to explore them in a new and exciting way - The Sisters Grimm is a great series to pick up.
The third book in this adventure series just keeps getting better. I would highly recommend for anyone, big or small, looking for a short escape from reality into the magical land of Ferryport Landing.
My 9 year old daughter and I love this series of books. Stories are intriguing and humorous. We can't wait to read them together every night.
